Nathan has more than 45 years’ experience in the areas of geotechnical engineering, pavement, construction materials and soil and groundwater contamination. This experience in includes soft soil improvement, geophysical expertise, pile foundations, flexible and rigid pavements, slope stability, construction quality control, specifications, construction specifications and supervision, durability assessment of pavements, bridges, concrete structures, soil and groundwater contamination investigations and remediation.
Nathan has been involved in marine structure investigations, marine pile design and supervision of installation, road and airfield pavements, bridge foundations, buildings and subdivision investigations, sewage treatment plants, agricultural developments, reservoirs and dams, embankments and soft soil.
Nathan has been involved in forensic studies and expert witness on failures related to house structures, dams, building foundations, slope stability, pavements, groundwater, building defects, etc. In addition, he has headed and been involved in applied research in geotechnical, pavements and construction materials ranging from geophysics in geotechnical engineering for rapid ground characterisation, ground improvement by HIEDYC, CDYC, Electro osmosis, reactive clay characterisation & stabilization. Nathan has authored or co- authored more than 40 peer reviewed technical publications in international conferences relating to geotechnics, construction materials and geophysical investigations.
