Additional Information
Neil has diverse Geoscience experience for all sectors (petroleum, coal and mineral mining, hydrogen/helium, civil), with a strong focus on geophysics surveys, in particular seismic surveys. His career spans 30 years and includes over 100 projects on every continent, in a variety of roles including 10+ years as Geophysical Operations Manager for Australia's largest integrated energy company.
Neil's expertise is broad, covering safety, environmental, technical, media, contract terms, project management and legal compliance aspects of geophysical surveys. He has experience with a broad range of legal matters from the perspectives of the resource company, the technical contractor or the third-party stakeholders, for onshore and marine geophysical surveys.
Neil established and chaired Australia's SurveySAFE Land organisation in 2012 and has participated in numerous academic papers and research initiatives for a diverse set of topics such as onshore seismic technology, sound-and-marine life issues relating to the impact of marine seismic sources on cetaceans, fish and crustaceans, the exploration for future resources such as hydrogen and helium and the mitigation of Somli piracy risks for East Africa seismic operations.
Neil has experience acting as an expert witness (England and Wales).
Neil established his company Total Seismic in 2016. Total Seismic provides expert geoscience consulting services for all sectors, specialising in all aspects of seismic operations and seismic geophysics. The company currently supports the civil and resource sectors on projects covering minerals, metallurgical coal, oil and gas, offshore wind array installations and pioneering work for the exploration of natural hydrogen and helium. Total Seismic holds industry leading Intellectual Property for passive seismic monitoring for mine geohazards and has patents and prototypes for new seismic signal amplification and noise attenuation technology.
