Dr. Richard Williamson is a Board-Certified Prosthodontist with over 40 years of experience in dentistry. He spent 26 years in faculty group-practice patient care and teaching at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics and the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in Lincoln, Nebraska.
He maintained a solo general practice in College Station, Texas for 17 years before returning to postgraduate school, earning a Certificate in Prosthodontics and an M.S. in Oral Biology.
Currently, Dr. Williamson is the Director of Implants and an Associate Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. He teaches Clinical Implantology and Removable Partial Dentures to pre-doctoral students. As the Director of Student Global Engagement, he also leads interdisciplinary collaboration at the university and accompanies students on global dental experiences. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of both the American College of Prosthodontists and the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Williamson has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally on a variety of topics, including implants, comprehensive treatment planning, and digital dentistry among others. His interests are in facilitating veteran dental care, giving students global dental experiences, providing expert witness services, and consulting with dental providers to strengthen their private practices. His specialized training and experiences give him the expertise required to review dental records and assess previous treatment and outcomes of previous care. This provides the basis for providing an expert medical-dental opinion
