Ross Brown is a specialist hydraulic services engineer, licensed plumbing & drainage contractor, and civil/hydraulic services estimator with over 25 year's industry experience. His design and trade installation experience includes projects throughout Australia and the South Pacific, project management and full contract and technical documentation of civil, hydraulic and fire services, and trade installation of works.

In 1985, Ross commenced an apprenticeship with the Australian Gas Light Company (AGL) as it then was, in the trade of plumbing, draining, and gas fitting. The majority of work at this time was primarily related to general gas plumbing common to the gas infrastructure supply industry, the servicing of appliances (including hot water services), meter sets, and industrial gas appliances.

Between 1990 and 1994, Ross Brown was a plumbing contractor undertaking plumbing and fire protection services installation and maintenance works. This work related to the installation and maintenance of various types of plumbing services to residential (including Class 2 residential Strata Buildings), educational, health care, as well as industrial and commercial buildings.

The practical experience gained during this time involved the installation, management, and supervision and maintenance of sewer, stormwater, water, fire protection and natural gas pipework services.

In about 1994, having completed additional qualifications with respect to the engineering design of plumbing, drainage, stormwater, gas and fire protection services, Ross Brown commenced work with Neville Brown and Associates Pty Ltd as a Hydraulic Services Designer, commonly known throughout the industry as a Hydraulic Engineer.

Ross Brown is currently involved on a daily basis in the design and specification of hydraulic and wet fire protection services including the selection, specification, and supervisory installation of plumbing, drainage, stormwater, gas and fire protection installations to the various type of works with which the firm becomes involved. A selection of project experience is set out below.

Ross Brown has over 22 years of hydraulic engineering design experience in all facets of plumbing and hydraulic services relating to residential, industrial, commercial, educational, aged care, and health care buildings. This experience includes site investigations, concept design, detailed/construction design, project management, inspections, service commissioning and verification of compliance with relevant authority requirements and documents.

Ross Brown has extensive experience in detailed forensic investigations and preparing expert evidence and reports for use in litigation, mediation and dispute resolution in matters before Federal Court of Australia, The Coroners Court of NSW, the District and Supreme Court levels of New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia, the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT) and Victoria, (VCAT), as well as international courts and tribunals.

Ross undertakes continuing professional development on an ongoing basis in relation to plumbing and drainage issues as and when such relevant opportunities present themselves.
