Wendy Rock is a Lead Professional Learning Specialist for Hatching Results. She retired in 2025 from Southeastern Louisiana University, where she was associate professor of counseling, the Counseling Program Coordinator, and the School Counseling Concentration Coordinator. Prior to joining the faculty at Southeastern in 2017, she was a school counselor with almost two decades of experience. Dr. Rock is a licensed professional counselor/board-approved supervisor, nationally certified counselor, and nationally certified school counselor. She received her M.Ed. from the University of Texas at Austin in Educational Psychology (concentration in school counseling) and her Ph.D. from the University of Holy Cross (New Orleans) in Counselor Education and Supervision. Her leadership and service to the school counseling profession include serving as a past-president of the Louisiana School Counselor Association (LSCA) and on the Louisiana Counseling Association’s (LCA) Executive Board. She is a past Chair of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Ethics Committee, past co-Chair of the ASCA Positions Statement Committee, a past member of the Louisiana High School ReDESIGN Professional School Counseling Task Force, a past Associate Editor for Professional School Counseling, and a past Editorial Board Member of The Professional Counselor. Currently, she serves as a member of the Louisiana ACT Council, a member of the ACT National Leadership Council, a member of the Louisiana Counseling Association Government Relations Committee, Director of Counselor Ethics and Professional Standards for LSCA, and Co-Chair of the Association of Counselor Educators and Supervisors (ACES), School Counselor Interest Network, Secondary School Counselors Workgroup. She received the 2021 LCA Presidential Award, and was awarded the LCA Advocacy Award in 2019, both the LCA and LSCA Advocacy Awards in 2009, and was recognized as the 2006 LSCA High School Counselor of the Year. Her research and presentations (national, regional, state, and local) focus on school counseling legal and ethical issues, the school counselor role, school counselor identity, school counseling equity, and the principal-counselor relationship.
